Relative phrases are marked with a relativizer word 'i' and a gap in the relative. The subject of the relative clause has accusative case (no marking).

Kasyr ġà halụ.
The boy saw the hare

Kasyr ġà i halụ.
The boy that saw the hare

Ġà hal i kasyrẏ.
The hare that the boy saw

The southern dialect also has a special clitic series in the verb.

Kasyr ġe i halụ.
The boy that saw the hare

Ġe hal i kasyrẏ.
The hare that the boy saw


Besẹk bosans ustà wasụnrụ.
The girl gave the book to the woman.

Besẹk bosans ustà i wasụnrụ.
The girl that gave the book to the woman.

Bosans ustà wasụnr i bes
The woman that was given the book by the girl

Besẹk ustà wasụnr i bosans
The book that was given to the woman by the girl
