5. Swing ? ?
<nomenu>Hojdzaner! This is a short story (if you can call it that), or an extract if in regards to an entire book, which I randomly wrote one indifferently lonely night narrated in first person, in both  Xynder* and English for ConDesign :v and is mainly supposed to address the topic of homophobia (though I guess the entire book would address other identity topics and coming to terms with who you are). I've imagined that it'd be included as a studied text in the Xynderian Literature module for EOHAs. I've also recorded it in both languages and provided some extra notes which you can hover over for more information! My writing and narrating skills aren't the best, but I tried with what I've got. Anyway, I hope it's okay >< (and I hope my microphone isn't too muffley xD)

*well, I still sound like I'm speaking  Helven Dialect but the vocabulary is standard, I promise

Afterthought: after recording the English, it just sounds like some badly written cheesy fanfiction but oh well x'D

Afterthought²: I think the difference between the length of the audio files says a lot >.>

Gripping the rusty, metal-cold chains from which the swing suspended echoed a delicate creak about the desolate park, which seeped into the moonlight that fell upon the innocent, damp grass. And yet, it was embarrassment that took over. The guilt and shame of what I was told was a sin. All that eats me up every day numbs me to the core, until my heart beats to nothing. Nothing. Is that what love was supposed to mean?

I peered over my shoulder to observe a half hidden silhouette emerging from the depths of the shadows. The momentary glance terminated with a sudden jolt forward, as he kept wandering in my direction. I continued to distract myself with the reflection in my hand-held mirror, staring into the same insufferable eyes whose irises looked victimised and violated, drowning in a saddened dark-brown.I made this sound so much better in English, but the Xynder clause literally translates to "whose irises were choking with a sad mud-like colour like a drowned victim" which is probably why I rephrased it

Very sweeping, said as an heterosexual. I'm no type of emotional stories, but I think this proves that romance is a topic composed of way more than just threadbare carry-on and beyond the socially in-etched borders of sexuality. Well done!

@Avlönskt ok (:

anyways, you seem to have done a lot of job on  Xynder, how many words you have actually made? (:
[link] [quote] [move] [edit] [del] 18-Sep-16 13:27 [Deactivated User]
@aver2 Ahh thank you >< it means a lot

@Excluded Well, reading other conlangs is quite hard; I can only read Xynder because I sing/hear it quite a lot and so I have a gist of what it should be like, and the former has kinda improved my ability to read it (as opposed to other conlangs which I've had absolutely no experience in ><)

I could certainly try though, I've tried recording things in Coriant for Marris' amusement for example :P

maybe I should let you record something in my conlangs, @Avlönskt ?
[link] [quote] [move] [edit] [del] 18-Sep-16 04:38 [Deactivated User]
cute!
it's great because it sounds naturalistic and you actually speak clearly with enthusiasm and decent acting/narration skills opposed to the dreaded conlanging monotone.

(i might have to bribe you into recording something in  Faźul
