About Amerhani
Amerhani is a Termic language variety spoken in Amerhan, a country located in southern Akulanen. It is occasionally known as Proper Amerhani to distinguish it from 
Amerhani Terminian, a dialect of the 
Terminian language to which Amerhani is closely related.
The status of Amerhani as a dialect of Terminian or as a language in its own right is disputed. Dialects of Terminian have been spoken in Amerhan since the Termic expansions in the 1st century CE, but Modern Amerhani only began to diverge from Modern Terminian during the Late Middle Terminian period. Most Amerhani dialects are mutually intelligible with Modern Terminian. The case is further complicated by the existence of a linguistic continuum between Broad Amerhani on one hand and Amerhani Terminian on the other; the majority of Amerhani citizens speak Terminian with at least some Amerhani influence, but exactly what is Pure Amerhani and what is merely heavily-influenced Terminian is controversial.
Given this, estimates for the total number of speakers vary wildly. Just over 6 million people reported that Amerhani was their “mother tongue”, but only 4 million regularly spoke Amerhani at home, and less than 1 million regularly spoke the language in their workplace. Nevertheless, over 28 million people claimed to understand Amerhani to some degree, including passively or as an acquired second language.
