About the language:
Piringish (piringtem) was the official language of the Insular Kingdom of Piringia (Lamneasienyang Piringa, Lamnísîyag Piriga), predecessor of the modern People's Republic of Syoranka (once in Sahar, R.I.P.).
About the language:
- Its main sentence structure is VSO, VOS being used in relative clauses.
- The grammar is very simple, using a system of affixation.
- Sentence parts are often glued together with the exception of the verb which must always be just itself, without anything added (for clarity of the message). This is, however, a stylistic variant that remains optional.
- Alongside verbs, nouns also express time. That is to say, a noun describing a human will be different depending on whether the human is currently alive, dead, or not yet born.
- There are two noun classes: Living and Non-Living. A few nouns that describe non-living things belong to the Living class, the reason being that those things (eg. Volcano) used to be worshipped by the Piri people.
- Piringish also uses ideophones (glossed as adverbs with the class ideophones).
- Piringish phonology is simple, with the majority of consonants being unvoiced.
