The word order of Enskanda is SVO. This means that the subject (the thing that is doing an action) comes first, followed by the verb (the action itself), and then the object (the thing that the action is done to). Adjectives come before the noun, and adverbs can be either before or after the verb.

Here's some vocabulary:

EnglishEnskanda
I/meJei
You (sg)Du
He/sheHan
Go/walkGang
SeeSjei
SaySej
HouseHusan
DogHundun
ToAt
WhatVad
InIn
WithMid

And here is a simple example sentence:

Hundun gang at husan.
"The dog goes to the house."

There are no words for "a" or "the" in Enskanda - these must be inferred from context.

If you want to make a sentence into a question, all that is required is to change the order slightly.

Gang hundun at husan?
"Does the dog go to the house?"

Vad sjei du?
"What do you see?"

--------------------------------------

Another important thing to know about Enskanda is how to use tenses other than the present. Unlike other languages which modify a verb to change its tense, such as the English past tense suffix -ed, Enskanda uses separate words for this. Gon is the future tense marker, and don is the past tense marker. They are placed between the subject and the verb in a sentence.

Han don sej hei.
"She said hello."

Jei gon gang at husan.
"I will go to the house."

This order changes slightly in questions, seeing as the subject moves to after the verb, but the tense marker remains before the verb.

Vad don sej du?
"What did you say?"

--------------------------------------

And finally, here are some questions to test yourself on:)

How would you say "I will be in the house?"
Jei   bi in

Which is the correct word order for the sentence "Did you go with her?"

And an easy question to make up for that tough one; what is the word for dog?
