[comments] reatimeadverb In Halenius, the adverbs related to time are constructed with the word for "age" which is ado.
For adverbs such as "throughout", "for", "during" etc. there is a specific usage of ado. For instance:
- throughout the year: mado ado
- for ten years: monk mado ado
- during the lesson: maott ado
For "since", the time period should take the genitive suffix and ado should be followed by avos. For instance:
- since ten years: monk madose ado avos
The same usage for "since" does not change even if there is an event instead of a specific time:
- since he came: oλaterse ado avos
In the sentence above "oλater" means "He came" but it can still take the genitive suffix which is -se in this situation.
Here is a sentence in which both usages are shown:
He had been writing books for years, but he has not written again since his wife died: orer nos ran ottus madoses ado avo onaȷe ȷan rer nos egre ğærse ado avos. ✎ Edit Article ✖ Delete Article
