Town Speech / Urban Basanawa is not a language with a strong degree of linguistic purism, linguistic purism is not valued by most speakers of the community. Speakers of Town Speech / Urban Basanawa usually don't really care about the origin of words, and people often import words freely from foreign languages, and it is known that there are no language elites deciding what words should be used among Town Speech / Urban Basanawa speakers.

As a result of having little concern towards the origin of words, speakers of Town Speech / Urban Basanawa might use loanwords that are not seen in dictionaries when they don't find the corresponding pre-existing words or when they find loanwords look cooler or can make certain effects, and there are almost always new words that are borrowed, but only few of them can become stable enough to be an integrated part of Town Speech / Urban Basanawa.

In formal texts like those used in law and academic writings, Sino-Xenic words and native words are preferred, but in less formal areas, people often use loanwords of other origins.

However, there are some people who insist in using native words(words of Germanic origin, the so-called Saxish words) rather than loanwords, as they think the native morphemes in Town Speech / Urban Basanawa are capable of expressing virtually everything in the world, and the number of loanwords have impeded communication between speakers, however, the ideas of the purists never become mainstream among Town Speech / Urban Basanawa speakers, people simply don't care about their thoughts although some words created by those purists have entered public use.
