Both nouns and verbs utilize reduplication in order to encode various information in Eiyrnas. Most notably, reduplication is used to form plurals on nouns.
Reduplication is employed to add a realis or indicative mood or to encode apparent truth or verity to a statement. The difference between either realis or verity can be subtle, and is very much dependent on paralinguistic attributes such as intonation. Verbs, like nouns, only reduplicate the first syllable and, while similar irregularities can occur, verbs tend to be more regular in comparison to their noun counterparts.

The verdical mood is formed in the same way, however intonation is often employed to differentiate it from the Realis mood when context alone is not enough. Usually a global rise on the reduplicated syllable is seen.
