[comments] [history] I'm not sorry about the pun.

Felin scholars work in base 16, so the computers they design share this trait. As such, that's one thing they have in common with human-designed systems. Another thing is that they have a concept of character encoding, which works as follows:

0123456789ABCDEF
0nullstartnextendbackbelltabline+purr-purr
1
2space.,!?>\«»+-×÷
30123456789ABCDEF

Cikakekikokumamemimomunaneninonu
Dopapepipopurarerirorusasesisosu
Eutatetitotuwawewiwowunlongharsh
F[surrogate pairs]

So the first set is control codes, including two to denote subtext purr, then there's the modern Upperspeech set, and the Lowerspeech set. And then ofcourse there's the surrogate pairs, which must always appear in the right order; 8xFx. Anything else denotes a stream error.
