The most salient feature of Loplins is that verbs are obligatorily marked for mood: realis or irrealis. Most core verbs have suppletive forms for the two moods. The infinitive form is a compound of the two roots: realis+irrealis.

Examples:
REALRealis mood (mood)
actual, real events
IRRIrrealis
mood
INFInfinitive (TAM)
non-tensed verb
"jump"loplinsloplins
"see"kenmikenmi
"do"ketdejketdej

The realis–irrealis split, with suppletion, extends to core adjectives and verbal affixes, both of which are treated very similarly to verbs.

Examples:
REALRealis mood (mood)
actual, real events
IRRIrrealis
mood
INFInfinitive (TAM)
non-tensed verb
"good"hajvenhajven
"cold"bliʒelbliʒel
"through"perθuperθu
(convert noun to adjective)naninani
