In Maryan Coptic, nouns can be divided up into two numbers: singular and plural. Nouns technically do not have a separate plural form, so to make a noun plural (or singular), you have to rely solely on prefix articles:

Indefiniteu-han-

* - pi- for masculine nouns, ti- for feminine nouns

However, some nouns contain separate plural forms and need to be memorized:
