[comments] felonomatopoeia That the felin have a potato equivalent is no big deal. But why is it still called potato even in Felinese? Well, sit down and I'll tell you why.
A curious and hungry fel pulled up a hitherto unknown root and, being hungry and curious, took a bite. Their first reaction was to spit it back out. Their friend asked what that root was, and they said "it's spit-worthy that's what it is!"
Thus naming it after the onomatopoeia for spitting out two bits of raw root: "patooey, tuh!"
The friend shortly after figured that baking the damn thing helped.
So yeah, you say "petayto", they say "pohtahto". ✎ Edit Article ✖ Delete Article
