[edit] [top]Noun classes

Raieming's noun classes are based on the rime of the final syllable of the noun. For example, the word "kuat" (cat)'s noun class is "at". Adjectives and verbs agree with the noun class of the noun: for example, "the big cat" is "lbigatfrom kuat kuatcat, noun class is "at"" and "the cat is" is "kuatcat, noun class is "at" kubeatfrom kuat". The accusative case is also formed by reduplicating that suffix, so "cat" (accusative) is "kuatcat, noun class is "at"oplaccusative caseatfrom kuat".

[edit] [top]Animacy

Raieming nouns are put into two categories: human and non-human.
Non-human nouns: these nouns' classes are part of the root word. for example: tathuau = table, kuat = cat, ladj = size.
Human nouns: these all end with -i by default. This -i changes depending on the name of the person who it refers to. For example, "spersni" means person. The name "James" is Raiemized as "Djeimz", so a person called James is "spersneimz". Other examples: ep(i) = man, eng(i) = woman, kuank(i) = child. There are some exceptions, like piumpaks = annoying person, which is a non-human noun.

[edit] [top]Third person pronoun

The third person pronoun is "ti", which is in the human category. Like other nouns in this category, the final -i changes depending on the person's name.

If you use this pronoun for inanimate objects, you use the noun class of the noun.

However, if you're talking about an animal, you can use the animal's name instead of the word for that animal:
Tit/he/she/theyeimzfrom Djeimz kubeeimzfrom teimz kuatcatoplaccusativeatfrom kuat. Tit/he/she/theyeimzfrom Djeimz cholnoteimzfrom teimz kubeeimzfrom teimz tathuautableoplaccusativeaufrom tathuau! = He (James) is a cat, not a table!
