Additional information:
- When romanizing characters representing ejectives (‎ޠ and ‎ޞ) it is customary to use a "Left single quotation mark" () instead of the normal apostrophe (' or ) or accent mark (`). Thus, ‎ޠ and ‎ޞ are properly romanized as ts‘ and tś‘.
- When a word has a prefix that begins with the same letter the word starts with, or when a word has a suffix that begins with the same letter the word ends with, an umlaut can be placed on the second vowel. An example is the word for book, ޥ‎އާ‎ޠ‎ލ‎އާ‎ޡ‎ޙ‎އި‎ޟ‎އީ (whaats‘łaatsħitśii). The plural suffix is -‎އި (-i) so the plural of book is ޥ‎އާ‎ޠ‎ލ‎އާ‎ޡ‎ޙ‎އި‎ޟ‎އީ‎އި, which is romanized as whaats‘łaatsħitśiiï. Notice the ï at the end in place of i.
