Additional information:
- When romanizing characters representing ejectives (ޠ and ޞ) it is customary to use a "Left single quotation mark" (‘) instead of the normal apostrophe (' or ’) or accent mark (`). Thus, ޠ and ޞ are properly romanized as ts‘ and tś‘.
- When a word has a prefix that begins with the same letter the word starts with, or when a word has a suffix that begins with the same letter the word ends with, an umlaut can be placed on the second vowel. An example is the word for book, ޥއާޠލއާޡޙއިޟއީ (whaats‘łaatsħitśii). The plural suffix is -އި (-i) so the plural of book is ޥއާޠލއާޡޙއިޟއީއި, which is romanized as whaats‘łaatsħitśiiï. Notice the ï at the end in place of i. ✎ Edit Article ✖ Delete Article
