Menu 1. Word Order

[edit] [top]Word Order

The proto-Tuyagai language has a Subject-Verb-Object order. Many common sentences consist of only three words; one for each category.

Nouns and verbs may be used as adjectives, and the placement of the adjective depends on the part of speech of the original word. Nouns used as adjectives come directly before the noun they are modifying, while verbs used as adjectives come directly after.

Adpositions, typically derived from nouns, always come before the noun phrase they modify. Therefore, they are prepositions.

The possessor of an object or subject will always be located after its possessee.
