[top]Loss of the verbalizers

Due to influence from the Terran languages, Soranthi has lost the noun + verbalizer construction. Although the verbalizers have disappeared, a vestige of them can still be seen in the infinitival forms of the verb. There are 3 types of infinitives mostly corresponding to Shikathi's (intransitive, transitive, passive) system.

  • intransitive -ma
  • transitive: -la
  • passive: -ka

Here are some examples:
ora= fire
orama = to be on fire
orala = to set (something) on fire
oraka = to be set on fire

orati= hot
orātima = to be hot
orātila = to heat
orātika = to be heated or to become/get hot
