Menu 1. Noun morphology 2. Syntax

Adding as I make it up as I go along based loosely on the Proto-Lahiri grammar.

Standard Ekuo-Lahiri family business:

- Direct-inverse (?)
- Animacy hierarchy

[edit] [top]Noun morphology

Nouns are marked with number/animacy prefixes. There are rather a lot of sub-paradigms and irregular forms with a number of noun roots essentially being suppletive for number/animacy at this point.

Hey, did you forget about mass nouns? Yeah, yeah you did.

Nouns can also take demonstratives and possessive prefixes.

[edit] [top]Syntax

Major word order is SOV or OSV. ¿Preference is for animacy-based word order, but this is not required. Argument case is assigned by animacy, with more animate argument serving as the agent; inverse marker used to change this.

functionality examples:

man cat see = the man sees the cat
cat man see = the man sees the act
man cat see-INVERSE = the cat sees the man
cat man see-INVERSE = the cat sees the man ?

Verbs can incorporate objects: VO.
