Personal pronouns in Byvnish vary depending on factors such as formality, gender, and closeness of the speaker and hearer. The most frequent first and second person pronouns are listed below:

Often rather than a second person pronoun, the referent’s name is used.

Byvnish traditionally has no third person pronouns, instead opting for words such as éles ísha (this person), sules ísha (that person), and tales ísha (that person (over there)). However, Byvnish has adopted the words aura as a male pronoun (i.e. he, him, etc.) (or gender neutral in the plural, i.e. they) and zóa as a female pronoun (she, her, etc.), taken from the Antolish third person pronouns aur and zyo respectively. Their use has gradually increased as foreign influence increased and Lysorish became the lingua franca of Iryba. Generally, still, other words are preferred. When used, the referent is generally somewhat psychologically distant from the speaker.

The polite pronouns ē and sae are most frequently used and have developed peculiar case inflections. These are listed below:
