This lesson will go over the bare-bones of Cuian like the pronouns, greeting and such.
Pronouns
There are 7 (kinda) pronouns in Cuian. They are as goes:
Pronoun | English | Cuian |
---|---|---|
1SFirst person singular (person) speaker, signer, etc.; I | I | Si |
2SSecond person singular (person) addressee (you) | You | La |
3SMThird person singular masculine (person) he | He | Ki |
3SFThird person singular feminine (person) she | She | Ara |
3SThird person singular (person) neither speaker nor addressee NNeuter (gender) neutral or neuter | It/They | Ni |
1PFirst person plural (person) we (inclusive or exclusive) | We | Te |
2PSecond person plural (person) addressee (plural) | You all | Me |
3PThird person plural (person) neither speaker nor addressee, they/them | They | Re |
3PThird person plural (person) neither speaker nor addressee, they/them NNeuter (gender) neutral or neuter | They/Those | Mon |
The pronouns ni and mon are the most interesting part of this.
ni and mon refer to things whose gender is unknown or an inanimate noun. The way to differentiate the two are either through context or through verb conjugation
I will get into verb conjugation in a different lesson but for now, I will share a basic example
mine meaning to see conjugated for an inanimate and animate ni
Ni minin is It sees
Ni mine is They see
The neuter animate pronoun does not conjugate the verb whilst the inanimate does.
