In almost every case, verbs in  Tatsan appear at the end of a sentence. Verbs do not inflect to show person or tense; person is indicated by declining the classifiers of the nouns in the sentence, while tense is expressed periphrastically. There also is no infinitive form for verbs.

Verbs conjugate to indicate mood (simple vs progressive), or can conjugate into agentive participles, patientive participles, or gerunds. Verbs also conjugate to show one of four voices, including indicative, reflexive, reciprocal, and causative.

There are four classes of verbs. Class I and III verbs end with a vowel, while Class II and IV verbs end with a consonant. Verbs conjugate according to paradigms of infixes, which are determined by the verb's class.

Gerunds are used to describe an action as a noun. For example, in the English phrase “I enjoy eating”, the word “eating” is a gerund.

Participles can be either agentive or patientive, corresponding roughly to the English present and past participles. For example, “the eating dog” is agentive, while “the eaten food” is patientive.
