Reduplicating nouns acts as an augmentative:

In nouns, it can also act as a marker of quantity:

ruawo "pear" > ruawo-ruawo "a lot of pears"
timpa "rain" > timpa-timpa "a lot of rain"

Occasionally it can be used as an intensifier with nouns:

tatim "idiot" > tatim-tatim "complete idiot"

Reduplicating adjectives acts as an intensifier:

tai muo "blind" > tai-muo-tai-muo "completely blind"
mea "rude" > mea-mea "very rude"

Reduplicating verbs acts as a habitual:

meteko "console" > meteko-meteko "console habitually"
akam "laugh" > akam-akam "laugh again and again"
