[edit] [top]Overview

Toruknu, composed of to, meaning you, ruk, meaning with or together, and nu, meaning me.
'You with me', the language of unity!
I'm designing this to be fairly easy...ish to understand, or at least to learn.

[edit] [top]Why did I make Toruknu?

It's just something I wanted to do for myself, and also to help me understand grammar and stuff while learning other languages!
Toruknu borrows lots of words from Korean and Tagalog, and is also written in Hangul because I found that the easiest to read while also being something other than the Latin alphabet.
Those two languages are the ones I'm learning right now!
I'm gonna be honest, I definitely went in blindly while starting to make Toruknu, and I'm gonna continue to make a lot of bad decisions. I guess that's just part of me teaching myself to conlang.

[edit] [top]Is there lore?

Yes, actually! Not much, but the Toruknu are the definition of hospitality. Though they have shorter, stumpy builds, they've learned to be creative and work with what they have.
With their humanoid appearances, they'd have no trouble fitting into modern life today. They're very kind and some of the most hardworking people around.
Also, they have good food and singers.
(Some of the things I said might be a little biased because I based the Toruknu off of Filipinos, and we're very proud of where we're from, hahaha)

And that's all!
Get ready for a crash course on this dumpster fire of a language!
