Menu 1. Traditional names 2. Modern names 3. Last names 4. Parent names 5. Group names 6. Foreign names
Both the traditional and modern names
are made up of two parts; the prefix and the suffix. Some suffixes are used to tell rank (eg. -hôšiŋ for leaders, -tenšiŋ for co-leaders & -su for high rank scientists and doctors). These suffixes are usually chosen by other people while the other, more common suffixes (These ones aren't associated with any rank) are chosen by the individual. Prefixes are usually given by parents but can be named by other people if permitted.

Order of names :

Group, Parent, Twopart, Family

ex. Ce Liadep Tafnakofrha Tsaŋsu

[edit] [top]Traditional names

Prefixes have to be adjectives. If the word isn't already an adjective, the adjectiviser -(s)ai is used.

Suffixes have to be nouns. If not, use the nominaliser -(a)ni.

For ekekonơ (People that are ages 12 & under & foreigners), names use the -kơri suffix.

-foreigner.SUFSuffix (suffix)

For citizens above the age 12, names can use any word they want (except for -su and -seiši which are reserved for people of high positions)

Vôlewo (Doctors & scientists of high position) use -su; from su, 'water'. Tençele (Co-leaders) take the suffix of -tenšiŋ; from ten- + -hôšiŋ. Çele (Leaders) take the suffix -hôšiŋ; which is derived from seiši 'star'.

[edit] [top]Modern names

Modern names are simplified versions of the traditional names. Prefixes and suffixes don't change form. Words are shorted - vowels are removed in between fricatives (F) and plosives or nasals (K) (V//F_K).

hsôl

Traditionally, this would be nehentaesôlorhi.

[edit] [top]Last names

These names are placed after the two part names. They are combined of both parent's last names.

[edit] [top]Parent names

This name is just the name of the parent of the same gender. These names are placed before the two part names.

[edit] [top]Group names

Group names like the others but are based off of social group. If your main group choose the word 'lơkrhem' as their name, then you can use it as yours. You don't have to use one of these names though. These names are placed before the family names.
