[edit] [top]The Executive Branch

The Executive Branch of the Ithaurean government is made up of the Tayesogi, the Head of Government and Head of State for the nation, and their advisers. The Tayesogi is elected by the legislative branch, the Seneti, and serves one five-year term. As the Tayesogi is almost always the leader of the majority party in the Seneti, the majority has the right to remove the Tayesogi from power, dissolve the Government, and call for new elections, should the Tayesogi do something that is not to their liking.

[edit] [top]The Judicial Branch

The highest court in Ithaurea is the Supreme Court of Ithaurea. The Supreme Court has the power to nullify any decisions made by the Seneti, and rules on cases brought up from lower courts. The judges of the Supreme Court are appointed by the Tayesogi, and serve for life, although they can be removed from office by the Tayesogi who appointed them.

[edit] [top]The Legislative Branch

The Seneti is a unicameral legislature made up of 100 seats, every five seats representing a province of the nation as a whole. The members of the Seneti, or Senettaye, are elected, five to a province, by a Single Transferable Vote system. They can serve up to five two-year terms. The majority party in the Seneti also elects the Tayesogi, and as such, the Tayesogi is usually the party leader of the ruling party.

Checks and Balances
As previously stated, the Seneti selects the Tayesogi, and can remove them from office.
The Tayesogi appoints the Supreme Court, and can remove them from office.
The Supreme Court can nullify decisions made by the Seneti, even the election of the Tayesogi.
