How to form nouns out of stems

There are certain affixes that will turn a stem into a noun with a specific meaning.


-u: agent - täwu, eye [seer]; arwaku, warrior [weapon-er]; zemu, farmer [ear]

-tam: place - zemutam, farm [farmerplace]; byatam[*beyatam], kingdom [kingplace]; bashratam, realm of mean [manplace]

-ai: humanisation- ädhai, child [*seed]; kedirai, guardian [*shield, scale]

-a: nominalisation for animate nouns/ bodyparts: saamiza, beauty [beautiful]

-ade: former collective, used for generic term - miyade, bird [*fly]; ärade, forest [*tree], dasade, sealife [*swim]

-as: nominalisation for inanimate nouns - arwas, weapon; dholikas, magic [*chain]; aiwas, house

-ak: used for tools, instruments and utensils: arwak, sword; qadhak, knife

-ei: diminutive - zemuwei, ant [little farmer]; kilisei, morning [little day], gaalei, boy [little man]; mulwei, beak [little nose]

-tak: augmentative - krisikitak, thunderstorm [big rain]; dhumutak, noise [big sound]

-um: tangible material - maqum, ice; tlasum, iron

vowel elongation + -i: by-product and things associated with/bodyparts - muuli, nostril [*nose]; qaazi, dream [*sleep], suuri, toe [*foot]; roobi, beard [*chin]
