Spatial adpositions/prepositions are organized into two main groups: Those that describe a static location or configuration, and those that describe movement. These are generally paired, ie, in and (go) into, or around/encircling and (go) around. Sometimes a single static location adposition is related to more than one movement, such as above/over, (go) upward/rise/ascend, and (go) above/over.The strictness of the definitions given here are not always followed in actual usage, especially when used for temporal rather than spatial situations.
