The area that would become wOrl at the time of 300 BO was quite differant to the modern wOrl today, with a different culture, different language, and different beliefs. The people of 'wOrl' were much more widespread, with their culture, called "Vetkel" by modern Cascian scholars, expanding far beyond modern borders. The map below shows the major cultures in the area: Green being the Vetkel culture that would persist in wOrl, Orange being the Apsiamgi culture that would become neighboring Evitis, light blue is the Pateriam culture that was absorbed later by the Cascian Empire, the pink is the Friguylze culture. The final red color is the Cascian Empire, however at this time it was not an empire but a republic, with the dark red representing the cultural extent and the bright red representing actual owned territory.

The Vetkel culture would never be this expansive again, as in future years there would be a series of invasions, catastrophes, and the Oblivion Events. The reason for its large extent at the time is speculated, but it is theorized that at the time all civilizations were extremely advanced and futuristic, having discovered teleportation, space travel, and very efficient power sources, the likes of which could make real flying cities. The world at the time had merged science and magic, however science was by far the more popular.

Some evidence of these civilizations still exist today, in items called Artifacts, or śEarmèl, derived from Old Great Weapon. The greatest example and most widely known one is the Planar Gate called Portferni, which was the first and last of it's kind. The Gate allowed the operator to open a 'door' into a different universe for a sustained amount of time, and could allowed for travel into alternate universes for scientific research. However this did not happen, instead it was bought by a Siansean millionaire to try and open a door in time instead of its actual use. The plan did not work and it created a paradox, destroying the machine and creating a miniature black hole.

The black hole was actually a Planar Gate itself, and it opened into a desolate universe destroyed by two powerful gods, siblings called Fredrik and Oblivion. Oblivion tried to use the black hole to travel into our universe, but was too weak to do so. At this point the black hole had destroyed much of the huge mega-city, and showed no sign of stopping. However, a few adventurers who were linked to the millionaire and paradox (Story to be told later) threw themselves into the black hole, resolving the paradox and collapsing the black hole. This day is marked as the year 0 AO (After Oblivion)

This is one of the most influential events in the history of pIntey, as it signaled the end of those huge, advanced civilizations. The reason this part of time is shrouded in mystery is because so many of the things that existed at that time were soon destroyed, and the items that survived are the highly sought after Artifacts mentioned earlier. Some more examples of Artifacts are the famed Steel-Throwers that we know as guns, the Godspeaker that we know as computers, and the extremely rare Metalmounts, a catch all term that includes planes, cars, boats, and rocket ships.

The First Oblivion Event, as it is now called, had destroyed the most populated city on pIntey at the time, killing almost five hundred million people. When Oblivion had tried to break into pIntey it had released a huge EMP, wiping out three quarters of the worlds electronic equipment, and causing electronic planes to crash, flying cities to fall out of the sky, and massive amounts of people to loose the use of implanted technology, causing their bodies to reject the now inactive tech, killing many. This was an event that the world would never recover from, and is the end point of technology; from now on the world would regress into the dark ages.

There will be a separate article dedicated to the effects of the First Oblivion Event (FOE), but the most important information is that people now knew that gods are real, and that they held unimaginable power, that in total almost 4.8 billion of the 40 billion people on pIntey died because of the event, and all contact to space colonies, off world settlements, and previously contacted aliens (now thought to be the ancestors of today's monsters) had been lost. For the first time in almost a thousand years humans were once again restricted to only pIntey.
