The Fall of the Empire

By 2153 SC, the cracks had shown themselves - and now they were bearing their teeth. The Empire had to do something, they were terrible at pan-imperial communication, and didn't realise there was an independence movement right under their noses until horribly late. Wishing for help from the gods, the oligarchy mandated that all workers of the government such as guards and servants etc. pray for one hour each day; but... no dice. They knew they had to do something - and so they did.

The oligarchy, using a genetically-modified glandling, released a "beast" covered in clay and fur into Amanitaville, which destroyed homes, farms, and so on. This would be the time - guards, pretending to fight the beast, waited... waited... and waited. The beast finally attacked the animals and people, and Steya arrived. The guards, afraid, knew that even if they died for this mission, the empire is bounds above their worth, and it wouldn't be for nothing.

Just as the beast turned to sludge, the guards went in and pierced the deity with Alucinarium-tipped spears, and the deity screeched a horrific screech - it was like a baby's cry, but akin to the scream of a mouse? A cat? A sort of animalistic yelp. Alucinarium, as a stubstance, was an element inherent to the Second One, a deity hierarchally above Steya, and so, Steyha was incapacitated.

The crowd looked on in horror as the guards carried the deity to the Aesculus. They then took it to the prison in Vacuitasia, and incarcerated it within a massive cell. When the baby deity awoke, the oligarchy entered the room and bargained with it, bargained for more power - bargained for it to destroy the dissidents so that they wouldn't have to risk the public response to them killing the rebels.

The baby didn't do anything they said. After the last words of the Oligarchs' speeches, Steyha just began to scream and cry. Its mouth didn't even move - its stone face just contorted into a frown over the span of their discourse - but the men could hear it. Even, through the gateway, the civilians of Amanitaville could hear it. Knowing they had done something wrong, the oligarchs ran from Vacuitasia, and destroyed the alucinari gateway on their way out - with no regard for the men still inside.

When they left the Aesculus, the cracks beared their teeth once more. The people had lost their crops, some family members, and the deity they had named their empire after out of admiration. The Oligarchs, all standing before the great tree, didn't know what to say. The people of the independence movement stood before them with their bows pointed forward. They shouted profanities at the oligarchs, but they care much for what the dissidents had to say - the group just began to sing.

Ho, Va'ísa Wírasóbe Dása...
v ' s w r s b d s ...
Oh, to love our country...

They were executed before their people, their singing was replaced by the cheers of the crowd and the harmonious continuation of their song (In the Morellic Basin Dialect) by the rebels who had worked all this time without being noticed until the opportune time - the empire's botched attempt to prevail gave them the best opportunity to take over.

The days of the Empire of the Petrified Child had ended, and the sun set on a world in which a god was lost and a country wished upon was made flesh.
