Menu 1. Things to work on: 2. Things that never seem complete: 3. Currently working on: 4. Things that have changed or are [mostly] complete:
This is a list of things that I want to work on and things that have been changed.

[edit] [top]Things to work on:

- anticausatives and causatives

- create an antipassive voice

- add nuance to how negatives are formed

-create more fossil words and irregular verbs

-work on intonation, prosody, and stress patterns

-revamp possessive forms and the particle oša

-develop unaccusative and unergative forms

-improve ergativity system and antipassive voice. add quirks and nuance

-iron out the meanings behind non-productive infixes such as -lu- and -[y]x-

-flesh out aspect and mood system

-add more discourse particles

-create participles

-clarify when and how nouns get incorporated

-work on rules about serial verb constructions

-redo how relative clauses work. experiment with internally-headed or double-headed. I like the idea of continuing to use yxola as a relative clause particle, but I want to explore other options.

-work on the story mood

-create a unique system for indirect objects

- add more irregular verbs, defective verbs [verbs that don’t decline fully]

- make Tulwyn more different from the main dialect

- create some irregular plurals/duals

- polysemy [one word with multiple meanings]

- foreign borrowings [for example, from  Kirnosan or  Akidacerosian or a daughter language of  Proto-Laratii]

- folk etymology and back formations.

- asymmetric grammatical agreements?

- I don’t want there to be so many ambitransitive verbs [too English-y]. I want there to be more use of verbal infixes, causative forms, and antipassive voice to do what ambitransitive verbs do in English.

[edit] [top]Things that never seem complete:

- -improve pronouns-as-verbs, pronoun-like words, and the Avoidance Language. add nuance.

-Polysemes

- Discourse particles

[edit] [top]Currently working on:

- developing conceptual metaphors

[edit] [top]Things that have changed or are [mostly] complete:

- causatives no longer feel silly.

- Nolwynn now has an antipassive voice. I may tweak it more, but I like it as it is, at least for now

- The particle oša now has clearer rules. The rules around possession have been updated to be more streamlined.

- indirect objects can now be incorporated into the verb in some instances. Noun incorporation is very strictly defined.

- Fossils: the non-productive infix -lu- now has a meaning

-Ergativity: now it is more nuanced has a few quirks. Still a bit more work needs to be done, but it is moving in the right direction.

-Serial Verb Constructions: very simple and intuitive rules for making these constructions.

-/ɛ/ is no longer represented by eh but instead with ey

- I think Tulwyn is sufficiently different from Nolwynn. The only thing left is to ensure that it has something to draw loanwords from, but that will require working on  Kirnosan - and that can wait for now. Here is a summary of the differences between Nolwynn and Tulwyn.

-participles now exist in Nolwynn

- unergative and unaccusative forms now exist in Nolwynn. The infix -yx- now has a use.

-relative clauses are now a thing in Nolwynn. I like how it is, but I might tweak it a bit more.

-Stress, Intonation, and Prosody: Nolwynn no longer has even stress. Instead, it has something more dynamic and realistic.

- Negation: added more details to how negation works, particularly in how it interacts with the Avoidance Language
