The people of Ma'aku

[comments] [history] This article is about Ma'aku Island, the main island where the language of Marss (native name Ma'aku) evolved and was adopted by the people who had settled there. A party of Hawaiian explorers were sent out on a voyage around 1,000 A.D. to discover knew lands. They found Ma'aku Island, returned to Hawaii, and a colony was set up on the island.

The people there are mostly uncontacted by the more modern countries, but the people of Ma'aku are still fairly advanced in the scheme of things. They live in towns and villages, rely on fire for warmth and cooking, and scavenge and hunt for all of their food. They use the bones of the animals they hunt as jewelry and weapons. They use the fur as clothing.

The island is small and sandy. It has lots of tropical plants like palm trees and tropical fruit trees such as early bananas and many citruses. While farming is possible, the people of Ma'aku have not quite yet understood how plants grow and how they can exploit it.
