Long sounds are sounds in Asper spoken for a longer than normal amount of time. These are uncommon in Asper, but are integral to the language in conjugation and for important concepts.

Long vowels in Asper by the circumflex (â, ô). The circumflex formed from old orthography, as a contraction of áà, which today would be written as áa and is not legal without final i or u. All vowels are eligible to become long, in which case they are pronounced with a distinct dipping tone. This feature makes Asper one of the simplest tonal contour languages, and is easy to learn.

Long consonants, or geminated consonants, are doubled in writing (bb, cc). Any consonant or nasal (kk, mm, nn) can be lengthened,
