Akoi! Welcome to Interplanetary Common, the Lingua Franca of the Solar System in a distant future that no longer remembers a time before the collapse of today's society. But the marks left by the incredibly advanced pre-Collapse humanity are still evident on the Solar System. All of the planets and many of the moons have been terraformed into a habitable state that needs no maintenance, including even a few of the gas giants. And so, when humanity once more learned to travel the void, it needed a language common to all of its cultures and all of its worlds. After centuries of pointing and grunting and speaking loudly and slowly, Interplanetary Common has formed out of a mixture of many languages common on the planets.

From the author's point of view, the language is clearly derivative of European Languages, for those are what I'm most familiar with, and what my intended audience will also most likely be most familiar with. I've incorporated a few features from other languages that I know that should be simple as well for European readers, but it is not meant to be an entirely original language.
