[edit] [top]Introduction

Hinamira employs constituent dislocation in a similar nature to French, where the subjects can be moved before or after the verb and then replaced with pronouns. Hinamira Mahaka employs it to a greater degree than traditional Hinamira, however, both forms of the language use it.

For "na" and "ter" ("I" and "you"), names are used for dislocation. For example, the following greeting: "Ra-Kala, im-Mera, ahana na ter" (From Kala, to Mera, hello to you) uses Kala (the speaker) and Mera (the audience) to replace where pronouns might go. If names are unknown, the pronouns would be repeated. (Eg, "Ra-Kala, im-ter, ahana na ter.") No dropping of the structure is permitted.

Third-person pronouns are, however, able to be dropped. Eg, in the phrase "Nas-mahina telana" does not give a third person pronoun after "telana," even though "nas-mahina" has been moved to the beginning. In formal speech, it can be maintained, but this is a feature of Hinamira Mahaka. Traditional Hinamira has no issues with completely dropping the third person pronoun.
