In  Classical Grithen, gender handles in a relatively straightforward way. There are 4 genders: Common, neuter, masculine, and feminine. Nouns that represent objects which have natural gender use either masculine or feminine depending on the relevant gender. In all other nouns, either common or neuter are used. This is a relic system for when there were three genders used throughout all nouns.

Note that the 3S personal pronoun still retains the three genders.
