About Alasi
Alasi is an Alfo-Vorenic language of the Dradosic branch, spoken across the Aralian continent but primarily within the United Federation of Elven Free States of Aralia. It is often erroneously referred to as Anari (Anarami), which actually refers to the written standard language used in the Free States. Anari is based on an older version of Alasi, and is no longer spoken by anyone as a first language. Written Alasi exists as well, though there is no formalized standard spelling or grammar.
The number of speakers is hard to determine, but the estimated numbers land around 50 million speakers. These estimates are based on the population in the state of Ilesta and surrounding areas, where Alasi is the dominant language. Seeing as Ilesta also holds the administrative capital of the Free States (Almæki), Alasi is a highly influential language and often serves as a common language across all the states, even though many other languages and regional dialects exist alongside it.
