About Haakan
Brief History
Spoken by the 'Hāqata peoples of central Īs'mehta located between the two rivers, Ūrt and Āqar, the latter lending its name to the inhabitants. The language can be considered a, bat yet-sehtā, or lit. 'tongue of commerce', and was based off of Proto-Hāqq by the scribes of King Hatt-Pūt IV in the year 754 PD. 'Hāqa'bat was used in order to facilitate trade within the growing river valley, especially after the arrival of the southern tribes of Yamāk. The language itself was made fairly easy for the local groups to learn, but was deposed and replaced with Ūt-Maqa a hundred years after the death of King Hatt-Put IV*.
