About Sheeyiz
Sheeyiz’s grammar and orthography are intended to look complex, like a naturalistic language, whilst having subtle clues and systematic properties to make things easier to remember for its inventor.
Its main goal was to be a grammar playground and its intended historical trajectory is from an isolating language with simple fixed phrase structures into a language with some agglutinative morphology and also more flexible phrase order due to adoption of case endings from another language.
Sheeyiz’s imaginary background is being created around 1600 years ago as a pidgin language developed in the mid north-eastern part of the Sethen continent on planet ᶑϣḟᶂᶕṅ, with significant influence thereafter from the major language of the area, Naastnaat (which was my phonology playground language). The concept of a pidgin enabled me to start with very simple phrase structures and isolating grammar. It also justified reuse of vocabulary from the Talan language I invented when I was a teenager.
