About Ancient Eldarin
A fictional, naturalistic (hopefully) language from my fantasy worldbuilding project Voidsong. The oldest form of Eldarin, the common tongue that developed from the numerous languages of the twin elven homeworlds of Qaso and Aqiro when elvenkind first invented the anima engine and sailed off into the stars.

Syllable StructureThe normal syllable structure is (C)(C)V(C).
Rarely you may encounter V/ɪɛ/FV syllables, where F represents a fricative. A holdover from an ancestral form, these syllables are hard for even some native speakers to pronounce, and they are slowly phasing out of the language (often by the dropping of the /ɪɛ/ and the splitting of the remaining into two syllables).

Stress informationNeutral stress falls at the percieved split between phonemes. In nouns, adjectives etc, this stress falls before the split, while in verbs it falls after it.
The pretercorporeal and supercorporeal lingual genders also cause the first syllable of a word to be down-stressed (tonally descending) or up-stressed (tonally ascending) respectively.
