About Pruvencéau
Pruvencéau is a Romance language descended from Old Provençal. It is spoken from across the Mediterranean coast, from east of Nice to Bordighera. The language has a lot of Ligurian loanwords, which is reflected in the language’s orthography. The standard form was developed from the Raocabrunaisc elite dialect (spoken in the city Roquebrune-Cap-Martin). It is also colloquially called las paraülas. It is spoken by around 81,500 native speakers.
