About Kimutsitlan
The concept behind Kimutsitlan is to incorporate extensive consonant mutation into grammatical functions. There are 7 types of consonants that come in groups of 4. These 4 consonants share similar places of articulation but differ in manner.
Each group of 4 contains 1. Ejective, 2. Injective or Click, 3. Nasal or Stop, and 3. Fricative.
Ex. "p-b-m-f" [p-ɓ-m-ɸ] is group 1.
Think of the groups as a circle with
(p-b) on the top, and
(f-m) on the bottom.
From any consonant, a shift clockwise is a Hard Mutation.
A shift anticlockwise is a Soft Mutation.
And any shift diagonally is a Cross Mutation.
Ex. "p" Soft Mutation = "f", "p" Hard Mutation = "b", and "p" Cross Mutation = "m".
The language features vowel harmony between Closed Vowels "i-u" [ɨ-u], and Open Vowels "e-o" [ɛ-o], with a Neutral Vowel "a" [ə]. The case system prefixes and/or suffixes match with vowel harmony. The verb system is relatively simple with Past, Non-Past,
