About Sinirtic
Sinirtic (/si.hɜːtɪk/) (Sinirteχ /si.hirteχ/ or Sinirtes ńuχtšem), also often called Paleo-Lappic and Pre-Goidelic, is an extinct language thought to have been spoken in Northern Fennoscandia and the British Isles, an area collectively known as Sinirteanym. With the language surviving in place names and via substrate vocabulary, no confirmed linguistic relatives exist. The language has been compared to the proposed Sino-Caucasian linguistic macrofamily -- particularly Dené-Yeniseian and Vasconic -- based on which a best-estimate grammatical system has been reconstructed.
na- Tijses Sinirtes-Āŋles Diktijonāri currently contains some 2 000 words, of which 70% are reconstructions of native Sinirtic and a further 7% are predictions from 'Sino-Caucasian' languages. The former range from simple prepositions to highly specific vocabulary dealing with e.g. reindeer hunting. Additionally, some deliberate style choices have been made; most notably the duodecimal number system, with the words for 11 and 12 having been borrowed from William James Sidis' constructed language, Vendergood.
