About Eyu
Ikiw is a priori language designed to be simple to pronounce, but at the same time, having a extensive, rich, predictable, exceptionless, and regular grammar.
The vocabulary is mainly of English source, but you’ll see some Portuguese and Chinese words and a bit of other languages.
It’s phonemes can have a wide range of variations/realizations depending on the preferences or based in the native language(s) of the speaker.
Orthography: preferentialy uses the Latin alphabet, but any other alphabet can be used. Capitalization and pontuation are used for discerning morphemes and parts of speech.
Grammar:
-highly agglutinative/polysynthetic
-lots of derivational suffixes
-five persons
-SVO word order
-no gender
-verbal prefixes convey tense, aspect, mood, evidentiality and valency (all optional)
-reduplication makes the nouns plural and intensifies adjectives, adverbs and verbs
-stress is in last syllable, except when the word has a suffix; when this happens, the stress falls on the last syllable before the suffix
-Ikiw means ‘’orphan kid that longs to be adopted’’
