About Modern Standard Sutti
The most widely spoken language(most populations are L2 speakers) and the lingua franca in the holocene era of Keton(the 8th world) since the 15th century.
The Valley Sutti languages(Old Sutti and its descendants, including Modern Standard Sutti) are known for the use of /m/ in 1st person singular, which is unique among languages of the Garric Linguistic Phylum. All other Garric languages have velars, /n/, glides or a single vowel for 1st person singular.
- SOV left branching
- postpositions instead of preposition
- Relatively simple phonological system with a moderately complex(maximal CVC) syllable structure, a standard five vowel system and a smaller consonant inventory
- Ergative alignment in standard written language but neutral alignment in colloquial form
- tense-based TAM(tense-aspect-mood) system on verbs
- m-T pronouns(/m/ in 1st person singular and coronal obstruents in 2nd person singular)
A mostly priori diachronic language with some posteriori elements(e.g. the -stan suffix for “land”)
