About Alinian
Alinian is related to Kullon and Hayil and is the parent language of Orlenese. Alinian does not distinguish gender in its nouns though it does make a distinction, by means of articles, between definite and indefinite nouns.
The alphabet is as follows:
a, äe, b, c, ð, e, é, f, g, h, i, y, j, l, m, n, o, ó, p, r, s, t, u, ÿ, v, w
/a/, /æi/, /b/, /k/, /θ/, /e/, /ei/, /f/, /g/, /h/, /ɪ/, /i/, /j/, /l/, /m/, /n/, /ou/, /o/, /p/, /r/, /s/, /t/, /u/, /ÿ/, /v/, /w/
There are three diphthongs, /æi/, /ei/ and /ou/, represented by äe, é and o, respectively. To indicate length, a letter is written twice (commonly seen with the letter ó) and stress is marked by an acute accent on the letter y only.
Example sentences:
Ótt ygrið vÿkén sjótt ÿrÿð - The cat sees the dog
Ótt ójoð äedén ótt ÿrÿð in ébið - The boy gives the dog a bone
Ótt oryð réðén ilé ótt stot - The girl sleeps at home
