About Fringian Once spoken by the Fringian people, the language died before half of the first century CE. It descends from Proto-Pringian and is a sister language of Classical Piringish. A recent surge in interest has lead to it gaining official status as regional language of Samaya.
It has one dialect,  Draconic Fringian, spoken by the Draconic people (mainly Pakunelian territory along with Sinike). Piringian government does not recognise the Draconic dialect in any way, and its use is banned.

Standard (Piringian) Fringian died in Samouwa (where it was originally spoken) during the Classical Piringian monarchy, being replaced by Piringish as official and vernacular language. In Samaya, it died much later, but died nonetheless. The Fringian language was written off as "dead" by Piringish scholars. However, in 2017, a surge of interest in the language and culture lead to a very swift revival process in Piringia. This revived Fringian is written with a variant of the Piringian script.

On the other hand, the Fringian picked up by the Draconic people did not die. It is still spoken today and has a native script, related to other nearby scripts. It is a regional language in  Pakunel.
