About Ástríðrian
For a book concept that I am working on and may or may not complete
Ástríðrian, sometimes called Godly Tongue, was the holiest tongue of the Children of Light. It was created by their leader Ástríðr Eld (who claimed holy inspiration in all of her languages) and known only by her and her three generals, Erin, Robyn, and Cassandra, each of whom also have their own languages which were shared with their troops. Ástríðrian was used widely in the Reformation, and the phrase "Caisen Heyak ganozseke, kasz Aq’omilan Iheyan nozse" (We are the Children of Light, and I am the Coming Dawn) became famous. Although it can be written in Latin characters fairly easily (and was initially created using them), it is supposed to be written in a complex system that it primarily logographic with syllabic and alphabetic supplements.
