About Ikarma Literally meaning "language of the humans", ikarma is spoken in the great northern forest. The territory of the ikartua tribes is full of deep forests, fast rivers and cold winters that influence their language and way of life. Their society is divided into tribes, and they are deeply superstitious people whose lives are governed by the spiritual world of deities and spirits who live all around them.

Their language itself is very complicated, with verbs marked for transitivity, person, mood and tense, and their nouns declined for gender and case. Although technically having free word order, the subject always comes first in a transitive sentence. There is a system of front-back vowel harmony whereby all the vowels in both the word and any affixes must be either front or back. The ikartua have not yet encountered writing and the language is entirely unwritten, although they are known for creating rich cave paintings and carving symbols on the trees to appease the spirits.

The language is based largely off Finnish, the Romance languages and some Native American languages, although with some influence from English as well!
