About Mon
Mon, or Mon-Shukeren, is an ancient isolate language that gave rise to the extinct Meribes languages spoken in the now deserted or submerged islands of the Southern Indian Ocean until the beginning of the 1st millennium BCE. Pronunciations are estimated from Meribes languages. Mon was associated to a writing system which was unused after the 4th millenium BCE (that-is-to-say in Meribes languages proper).
