About Melodicode Melodicode is a language used to interface with the Harmonic Servers that were originally based in the world of Melcia. People known as Meloxans were created for the purpose of being linked to the servers for maximum use of the systems, but over time, methods were discovered to allow humans to interface with the servers (though not as completely as Meloxans). Smaller versions of these servers have been created in other worlds for the purposes of allowing "Melodicode Concerts" (gatherings where basically link themselves to a server to see what effects they can make, chiefly in the domain of song magic), among other functions.

Melodicode has two types: Pazrel (program) and Sakrel (structure). Pazrel Melodicode is used in most of the direct communications with the servers and appears more like a programming language, while Sakrel Melodicode is a more natural language that can be used to flesh out extended commands in lengthy song magic. Sakrel has fallen out of favor somewhat, but attempting to include the same commands in English/the Common Tongue reduces the power derived from the instructions as the server tries to translate.

Language family relationships
[edit] [view] Pazrel (Pazrel Melodicode)This dialect of Melodicode functions like a programming language. It is the primary language for interfacing with the Harmonic Servers and operates chiefly through insertion, deletion, transfer, and exchange commands. There are also commands for establishing definitions (like defining variables).
[edit] [view] Sakrel (Sakrel Melodicode)This type of Melodicode functions more like a natural language. It is used for fleshing out commands beyond what simple Pazrel Melodicode can deliver, and also for expressing oneself. Because of the control mechanisms involved in relaying instructions to the server, even very poetic language can result in added effects.
