Syllable StructureCCCVCC. Most common onset clusters are those which are fricative-affricate/plosive clusters and /zdr/ as listed. Glottal stops may appear alone in either coda or onset position. Coda position tends to create geminated voiceless consonants and mixed-voicing voiced consonants.
Stress informationStressed syllables take one of three pitch accents; high / rising (usually mid-high), falling (high-low), and flat tone (long low tone). Unstressed vowels are inherently tone-neutral. However, all unstressed vowels after a stressed vowel will be either mid~high or low tone - at least until hitting another stressed vowel. This seems to be syllable-dependent; while not always consistent, thus making some suggest there is a distinct high/low tone system for unstressed vowels, in most cases the underlying mechanism triggering this high/low distinction is dependent on the stressed syllable, something that is not phonemically noticeable on the syllable itself. This suggests there are possibly 6 stressed tones, three which trigger high tones and three which trigger low tones. Sentence-initial vowels tend to be high tone, but seem to be in free variation.
